Course Description
This course is designed for human resource professionals, AA/EEO professionals and ADA compliance officers with responsibilities in the areas of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity, etc. The Course will include discussion of Title VII, the Americans with disabilities Act and other provisions that are generally embodied in agencies’ EEO Policies. Additionally, the session will address the New Frontiers in EEO management as mandated by EEOC Management Directive 715- Proactive assessment and barrier removal.
Purpose
The purpose of this course is to prepare practitioners and stakeholders to engage the process of analyzing quantitative data and identifying indicators of potential EEO problems before the rise in the incidence of complaints in the workplace. Participants will identify stakeholders and resources that facilitate an integrated management approach to EEO.
This course will use group exercises, experiential learning, lecture and video clips along with PowerPoint presentation. Students will receive a reference sheet for stakeholders, a copy of sample the guidelines for collecting and preparing data, identifying appropriate groups, and avoiding legal pitfalls; sample datasets and worksheets will be shared to clarify the methodologies and sample policies that Agencies use to supplement Federal EEO Law.
